Team's BIO

Bravo Dance Company was formed in early 2005 by W.S.F. World Salsa Champion, Alfonso Caldera. Combining talent from various fields of dance, Bravo dance team consists of a mixture of professional dancers. With Alfonso Caldera as the director/choreographer, he leads a strong pack of dancers consisting of Christina Rubini, Eva Shockey, Jessica Shatzko, Juliana Semenova, Renee Sigouin, Sara Close, Clarence Tang, Edwin Perez, Fernando Rodriguez, Hugo Lopez and Jeff Mortensen. Their experience ranges from genres of Hip-Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Afro Cuban Rhythms, Ballroom and L.A style Salsa. Inspired by the intensity of the L.A. salsa scene Alfonso pooled these talented individuals together, creating a dance company that captures an explosive energy. The Bravo style can be described as fierce, fast, and aggressive; with attitude, held together by professionalism and showmanship. Having participated in competitions throughout the world, Alfonso has an understanding of what it takes to create a first class performance team. With passion and flare Bravo Dance team is constantly striving to raise the bar. Alfonso has brought crisp clean instructional classes and techniques of Bravo Style Salsa to Vancouver, his presence & drive has brought international recognition, inspiration and culture to this great city.
